ABOUT THE PROJECT

Kindness plays a key role in building a peaceful and sustainable life, by embracing and reinforcing all the values such as empathy, helpfulness, respect, love, compassion, justice, honesty, friendship, sensitivity, solidarity and responsibility. As teachers, we see that our children are increasingly exposed to negative (online) behaviours, environmental problems, bullying and social pressures in today’s fast-changing world, and we must equip them with not only academic skills but also moral values and social competencies through values and inclusive education in an interdisciplinary approach. As educators, our role in values education is to model, guide, support, and create meaningful learning environments in which our students can discover, practice and put these values into actions in real life contexts because values cannot be taught just through lectures or learned from textbooks. In our project, we will guide our students to internalise kindness as a basic value and act in their daily life accordingly through home-based tasks, in-school project activities, mixed-country teams collaboration, arts-oriented tasks, environmental actions and history-based learning. Our students will play and active and leading role in planning, managing and evaluating the project activities, which are structured in a step-by-step progression and extension from self, family, friends, school, community to environment.
